Where to Get a Retail Packaging Prototype

If you’re launching a new product or are rebranding an existing product, then you need a packaging prototype.

All packaging manufacturers are capable of creating a packaging prototype, but few actually do. Unfortunately, many packaging manufacturers aren’t willing to invest their resources (even if minimal) if they don’t think you’re a worthwhile company (often the case you’re a startup or small business).

Another reason is that there is little to no profit in making a prototype.

We understand how frustrating this is -- Graphic Finishers is a small business too!

So if you are looking for a retail packaging prototype, Graphic Finishers can create one for you!

You can be as detailed as you like --stopping by our Orange County location with your product and ideas,  or ship the product to us from anywhere around the country and challenge us to create something amazing.

Either way, we can do it!

So why are we willing to make prototypes when others are not?

While you’re not obligated to have us create your packaging when you’re ready to go into full production, but we hope is that our work wows you enough to hire us to do it.

But wait --do you need a prototype or a sample?

A retail packaging prototype is a simple example of what the final piece will look like. It will have full graphics, but it won’t be a perfect representation of the final packaging. Prototypes are usually handmade or use minimal machinery.

Use the prototype to present to investors or retail buyers. You can also use it in trade show exhibits. Some give the prototype to their marketing team to help them with their sales strategy.

A retail packaging sample, on the other hand, is a precise example of your packaging. Also called a proof, the packaging sample is where you'll do the final “sign off” before going into full production.

Graphic Finishers can do both retail packaging samples and prototypes!
